Finally, A True Summer Blush

January 1, 2010 by

I searched for 5 months.  I was looking for the colour of deep red-pink rose petals. The cosmetic industry adds brown or peach to almost every colour. It’s so wrong on the coolest, most fragile skin tone we see in Personal Colour Analysis.

The colours and article can be found here, in True Summer’s Cool Rose Blush, at my blog, A Greener Tea.

Sky, what isn’t working? Are you trying to post a link? email it to me at and I’ll look after it for you (and tell you if it works well for your Season).

The blog that names the true summer blush can no longer be accessed! True summers are are so patient . . . . but I’d love to know what it is if you still remember.

Sorry, I forgot about this link. You’re right, the site is no longer active. I remember the blush well, it’s NARS Outlaw. Back when I first saw it in 2009, it was perfect. Like all NARS blush, you apply it gently and lightly. It has a huge pigment deposit but True Summer skin needs some pigment (because it is not fully muted colour) and it needs some darkness in cosmetics or else, they look wimpy. However this is fragile skin and heavy products look heavy. NARS then d/c’d the product for a few years. When it came back, it had a thin gold sheen or film that was of no use to a Summer. Luckily, when I swatched the one at Sephora in Canada, you could wipe off the gold layer with tissue and the colour beneath was the same as before. Just be careful, products go and come back a little altered, like perfumes.
